HORSE RIDING AND PONY TREKKING IN AND AROUND ROB ROY COUNTRY

The countryside in and around Perthshire and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is spectacular with lochs, mountains, rivers and glens. What better way to explore than on horseback; trekking across the heather clad moors, riding along the forest paths, just being in the heart of nature enjoying the wonderful views of Perthshire, watching the burns tumbling over the stones, looking out for buzzards and kestrels hunting, seeing dippers and herons along the rivers and maybe a fish rising.

There are opportunities for riders of all abilities and for those who have never been on a horse before – from gentle walking treks to fast hacks. Hats are usually supplied and experienced staff match riders with suitable reliable mounts. Booking is essential.

MAINS OF TAYMOUTH

This trekking and learning centre at Kenmore is situated in the heart of Scotland with some of the most spectacular views and scenery. It caters for riders of all abilities.

REDNOCK FARM

A pony trekking and riding centre in the Trossachs at Port of Menteith near Callander. The outstanding ponies and horses are experienced in all terrains and all categories of riders. They are good natured and adaptable and will happily cope with all abilities from the total novice to the very experienced rider.

CRIEFF HYDRO RIDING SCHOOL

Crieff Hydro Riding School offers lessons for all abilities and either an indoor or outdoor riding arena. Hacks are available throughout Crieff Hydro's 900 acre estate. The riding school is approved by the British Horse Society as well as the Trekking and Riding Society of Scotland.

ALICHMORE STABLES

These stables are on the back road between Comrie and Crieff. The riding is in the lovely rolling hills of Perthshire and all standards are catered for. Open 6 days a week.
