Walks & Trails

Walks, Trails and Wildlife    Walkers and cyclists will appreciate the many footpaths, waymarked trails, cycle routes and forest trails within nature reserves, community woodlands, farms, plantations and native woodland. Local wildlife includes red squirrels and buzzards.

For hill walkers and climbers Ben Lawers (1,214m) is the highest mountain in the Central Highlands. There are other Munros in the area. Ben Lawers is owned by the National Trust for Scotland and is home to alpine plants as well as Ptarmigan, Red Deer, Mountain Hare and the Common Lizard.

There is also a wide range of walks in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park .
